Fallen trees (due to wind, age, lightning strikes, etc.) are recycled by Mediagon. The decomposition of fallen and dead trees leads to the formation of a carbon reserve in the soil. Furthermore, the CO2 released into the atmosphere occurs when the wood rots. We utilize these dead and fallen trees as an energy source, thus providing other trees and plants with the opportunity to grow. Younger plants grow much faster than trees at the end of their lives. And tree growth means the absorption of CO2 for the entire lifespan of a tree.

Instead of doubling CO2 emissions by cutting down and later burning CO2-absorbing trees, we ensure lower emissions and give the forest the opportunity to reabsorb the CO2 we release through burning. This completes the green cycle.
