Mediagon devices function without chemicals, electricity, or magnets thanks to their patented metallurgical technology (proprietary manufacturing, pressing, and hardening processes). This nature-derived technology ensures that the healthy minerals calcium and magnesium are fully absorbed
They can remain in the water and, instead of forming hard deposits, simply crystallize in the desired powder form.
A fine protective layer refers to a thin, uniform layer of limescale that forms inside pipes. Unlike hard, irregular deposits, this layer is non-adherent and acts like a natural protective film. Mediagon promotes precisely this process: The limescale is transformed into a fine dust that settles as an even coating on irregularities within the pipes. This lightly coats the pipes, protecting them from rust and extending their lifespan.
Yes, in Switzerland, homeowners benefit from a 6-week free trial. When installed by Mediagon professionals, you also receive a free pipe flushing service, which is why we recommend contacting Mediagon directly. Our consultant will be happy to visit you and install the appropriate device.
The pipe flushing process removes coarse limescale and rust from your water system. You'll be amazed; the effect is immediately visible in the test.
Yes, unlike chemical water softeners, Mediagon uses no chemicals, no salt, and no magnets. The calcium and magnesium minerals present in the treated water are retained and also prevent harmful bacterial growth, thus keeping the water fresh and healthy.
Unlike chemical water softeners, Mediagon uses no chemicals, salt, or magnets. This means no pollutants are released into the wastewater, and no natural resources are depleted. Unlike ion exchangers, Mediagon devices do not remove valuable minerals like calcium and magnesium from drinking water, and no water pipes need to be cut open. The water remains vital, stable, and healthy – completely chemical-free.
None, the Mediagon devices are completely maintenance-free and function for decades
Yes, thanks to the unique manufacturing process and the consistent functionality for years without maintenance or service costs, Mediagon devices are durable and sustainable.
Mediagon devices offer you a multitude of benefits – for your home, your health and the environment:
With Mediagon you are choosing a sustainable, economical and healthy solution against limescale – reliable and environmentally friendly.
Rainwater is initially soft. Water hardness only develops when water passes through soil and/or aquifers. Therefore, the type and quantity of hardness-causing minerals that dissolve in water depend heavily on the geological subsoil.
The term "hard" water refers to the mineral content of the water. In Switzerland, water hardness is most commonly expressed in °fH (degrees of French hardness).
Our devices come with a warranty of up to 20 years. Many of the first Mediagon devices, installed in 1986, are still in operation today – over 35 years later. This demonstrates the longevity of our technology
Yes, the Mediagon technology and the effectiveness of the limescale protection have been tested, examined and confirmed by TÜV Germany.
Yes, that's possible; assembly is very easy, we include instructions, and they are also available online. However, we recommend having one of our specialists carry out the assembly.
There are four models: Type D and Type Z for single-family and two-family homes, Type I for industrial plants and Type P for the catering industry.
Type D – Height 140–180 mm, Width 90–110 mm, Length 160 mm
Type Z – Height 140–180 mm, Width 90–110 mm, Length 160 mm, Width of additional mounting block 70–80 mm, Length of additional mounting block 80 mm
Type I – Height 160–240 mm, Width 110–180 mm, Length 240–280 mm
Type P – Height 160–200 mm, Width 100–120 mm, Length 200 mm
Yes, even shortly after installation, especially in the first few months, the existing coarse limescale layers are continuously broken down. Older limescale layers can be removed gradually. As a rule, the breakdown process takes about as long as it took for the installation itself. After that, the breakdown process stabilizes, and your water system is protected in the long term.
Yes, Mediagon devices work perfectly on all pipe materials such as stainless steel, copper, galvanized iron and plastic, and provide comprehensive limescale protection.
There are currently no bans in Switzerland. However, in parts of the USA, salt-based water softeners have been completely banned due to their negative environmental impact and had to be removed.
Water is a basic necessity, with the average person drinking around 2 liters per day. We are very fortunate: in Switzerland, tap water is generally safe to drink and poses no health risk. However, salt-based water softeners pollute the environment because large quantities of sodium chloride are released into the wastewater during regeneration. This can lead to elevated chloride levels in rivers and soils, negatively impacting ecosystems and agriculture.
